After a day of mourning the loss of one of the greatest icons in rock history, my guitar player from my band The Rock Popes, Kirk Copeland, and I were in my living room playing some David Bowie tunes on our guitars.

After having a couple of cocktails, I thought it would be a great idea to have an impromptu Bowie tribute on my front lawn in Highland...at 9pm...in 40 degree weather. Kirk thought it was a great idea.

He sent out a quick blast on Facebook that we were doing a tribute in 30 minutes. We didn't really expect anyone to show up, as we just wanted to sing our favorite Bowie songs into the night to say our farewells to The Thin White Duke. But lo and behold...one of our friends who works for KTAL-TV/KMSS Fox 33 as a videographer came out and set up his camera and gave us a little interview after the three song performance. It was pretty cool.

Here are the songs that we sang, as recorded by Kirk's girlfriend, Nicole Neumann:

I apologize for the lighting and sound quality...and the fact that I can't remember words, but we were just two minstrels in the night, sending up our praise to Ziggy. Hope you enjoy it.
