Songs Turning 10 Years Old: Nine Inch Nails “Every Day Is Exactly The Same”

We've been taking a bunch of time this year to relive the songs that got us where we are today. I don't mean that in a big, over-the-top hyperbole, kind of way. What I mean is that the songs that came out a decade ago set up the musical direction that bands followed in the last 10 years.

Now this will be a technicality, because the album that this song comes off from, With Teeth, was actually released in 2005. But the song "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" was actually released as a single, and found success, in 2006.

Trent Reznor was able to find major success with 3 singles of from this album, and the final single was, in fact, "Every Day Is Exactly The Same". Honestly, it was the last successful single from the group, until 2013. The album With Teeth hit Gold status, while the next 3 NIN albums did not achieve that mark of success.

The song was even nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007 (their second year in a row being nominated in the category) for "Best Hard Rock Performance", even though it lost to Wolfmother's "Woman".
