Former Stone Temple Pilots Singer Scott Weiland Has Reportedly Passed Away

Sad news evolving on Twitter tonight, where multiple high-profile rock artists are reporting that Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland has passed away.

The first major report came from legendary rocker Dave Navarro who Tweeted out:

Weiland recently visited Shreveport with 99X as the headliner for Festapalooza 2014 at Festival Plaza in Downtown Shreveport. Through his career, Weiland had constant battles with drugs and alcohol. The cause of his death is not clear at this time, and this is STILL an evolving story. Remember, just a few years ago the story that he was in jail was all but confirmed, until Weiland himself showed up on a video from a studio.

Let's hold out hope that this is a hoax, and that we haven't lost a legend...but sadly at this point, it looks like we may have.
