Selfies have become huge part of pop culture. However, there's a time and a place for taking self portraits on a smart phone. Snapping one with a man threatening to leap from the Brooklyn Bridge in the background is the exact opposite of a photo op.

The New York Post, in its inimitable style, blasted the anonymous woman on their front page, dubbing her action "selfie-ish." When the paper confronted her about her questionable decision, she changed her tune:

When approached by The Post afterward, she suddenly became camera-shy. “I’d rather not,” she said when asked for her name. She then hustled out of Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The man in the background who was threatening to kill himself was thankfully saved by police officers. However, we doubt anyone can save the unknown woman from rampant Internet scorn.
