It appears that the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl isn't the only multi-talented member of the band. During breaks in  Foo Fighters touring and recording schedules, drummer Taylor Hawkins gets together with a few of his friends (guitarist Mick Murphy and bassist Wiley Hodgden), and plays in a 70's cover band called Chevy Metal...

February 7 was the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles coming to America. In celebration of the most influential band in music, last night musicians from all walks of life gathered to pay tribute at The Night that Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles. One of the many performers to play last night was Foo Fighters frontman and rock star extraordinaire, Dave Grohl!

There are not many things that are certain in life...but here are two things I know to be absolute truths: 1) The Foo Fighters are awesome and 2) When you go to see Dave Grohl and company live, they are going to kick your ass in the most joyous way possible. Saturday night, during one of the many Bud Light Super Bowl Kickoff parties, the Fighters that Foo came out and melted faces for two and a ha

A couple of weeks ago at the Grammys, there was an all-star rock jam session scheduled to take place with Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl and Lindsey Buckingham. Unfortunately, the Grammys had other ideas and decided to cut the performance short and air commercials instead. Which led to Trent Reznor understandably getting pissed and a lot of rock fans raising hell.

For the first time in a LONG time, it seemed that the Grammys were going to acknowledge rock and roll. But those hopes were quickly dashed as the Grammys pretty much dropped a big, steaming turd on the rock world.

On April 12, 2011, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater for a "Live on Letterman" webcast.  The Foo were making the rounds to promote their new album "Wasting Light", The band decided to make the show an homage to the Beatles (due to the Beatles history making appearance at the theater decades before) - dressing up in Beatle-esque suits and broadca

On Nov. 18, 1993, Nirvana took a trip to New York City and taped their iconic 'Unplugged' set for MTV. The special aired less than a month later on Dec. 14, adding yet another immortal moment to Nirvana's vast list of achievements. However, 20 years later, MTV has revealed that at the insistence of Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl almost didn't perform at the 'Unplugged' set.

Okay.  So the headline is a little misleading.  Yes, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Jack Black (Tenacious D), and actor Val Kilmer have a new band called Sweetriver and the Huckleberry Dogs.  And they do have some new music.  But this 'Supergroup' isn't an offical band - it was something the three put together for the web series "Ghost Ghirls"...

With enough time and practice, just about anyone can learn a few notes, a few chords, and maybe even play a few songs. But, writing a big pop hit? That's for a select few supremely talented individuals, right? Not according to Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, who says writing a hit single is as simple as writing a bumper sticker...
