Meanwhile, the bass player's leather get-up may not appeal to Geezer Butler's vegan lifestyle, but she certainly brings the metal!

This past Friday, the 2014 Grammy nominations were announced, and Black Sabbath received nods in three categories: Best Rock Album (’13′), Best Metal Performance (‘God Is Dead?’) and Best Rock Song (‘God Is Dead?). Now, singer Ozzy Osbourne has responded to the good news.

Metal may not get the wealth of recognition that other genres receive, but the big category that every metalhead music fan should be paying attention to is the Best Metal Performance category. The nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were just announced and there's a diverse group of acts populating the category.

A big congrats is in order to Black Sabbath and Queens of the Stone Age as they're among the rock leaders for the 2013 Grammy Awards. Each of the acts received three nominations when the Grammy Awards nods were revealed Friday night (Dec. 6).

This became their fifth and final universally adored masterpiece, but it wasn't easy.

On November 9, in Los Angeles, Bass Player LIVE! hosted tribute to Geezer Butler that featured an all-star cast of musicians performing Black Sabbath tunes. Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, guitarist Zakk Wylde, and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante joined Butler for "Fairies Wear Boots"...

Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi is already the 'Rock 'N' Roll Doctor,' but the iconic guitarist is now an actual doctor thanks to Coventry University. On Nov. 19, Iommi received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts "in recognition of his contribution to the world of popular music."

Ozzy Osbourne’s lofty career achievements and shocking controversial episodes were known to almost anyone who loved and kept up on music throughout the '80s, so when the notorious singer announced he intended to retire from rock and roll on November 15, 1992, people listened!

The Bass Player Live! Concert & Awards Show honored musicians who too often get overlooked, though there was hardly any introduction needed for the night's top honoree -- Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler. Hartke helped line up some of metal's biggest names on Saturday night (Nov. 9) at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre to salute the man who helped paved the way for their own careers.

The world today is no longer such a wicked place if there's 10-year-old kids like this playing drums to Black Sabbath songs! It's one of Sabbath's best songs from the early days and is a refreshing sight to see this youngster pull off!

It has been a big year for Black Sabbath. The legendary act's long awaited comeback album '13' was released, and they've toured the world in support of it. Their Melbourne, Australia shows from this past spring were recorded for the ‘Black Sabbath: Live…Gathered in Their Masses’ DVD, set for a Nov. 26 release ,and the live video for 'Loner' has now been unveiled (watch above).

Ozzy Osbourne is known for his trademark glasses and long black hair. They have been part of his look for decades (save for that blond period in the '80s). Now, his baby granddaughter Pearl is following in his footsteps, as you can see from the photo below posted by Ozzy's son Jack on Twitter.
