The 2013 Rock on the Range lineup has been unveiled and it's packed with must-see bands. Rock on the Range will celebrate its seventh year of festival madness with perhaps its best lineup to date. The three-day event will feature Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Stone Sour, Lamb of God and many more.

99X introduced the Ark-La-Tex to the new Alice In Chains track 'Hollow' just before the holidays. The song was vintage AIC, with the Drop D tuning, sludgy riffs, and harmonies, and had us chomping at the bit for the new album. Alice in Chains guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell wants fans to know that the band is ready to work on a new album. The record would be the follow-up to 2009′s ‘Black Gives Way to Blue,’ 14 years after their previous release.

Call it a comeback of a comeback! After Alice in Chains‘ 2009 effort ‘Black Gives Way to Blue’ landed Grammy nominations and enjoyed healthy sales amid the debut of new singer William Duvall, who replaced the late, great Layne Staley, the band is currently writing new material and working on the follow up. AIC should enter the studio early this year.

So, Jerry Cantrell said they were back in the studio, but they had no release date for a new album. The lineup for the second annual DimeBash has been announced. The show is a tribute to the late, great guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, who tragically was gunned down seven years ago today, Dec. 8, in Ohio while doing what he loved most: playing guitar. He was performing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan when a disturbed fan opened fire at close range and shot him.
