Heavy metal on television is always a good thing, which is why next week should be exciting for all. Legendary thrash metal band Slayer will be hitting the stage of NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, July 27.

It's crazy to think it's taken this long for Slayer to appear on the show, but it's easy to see why the network would be scared off by the hell-raising band. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has begun showing love for metal these past couple of years, last November featuring a performance from none other than Metallica, so consider the floodgates open.

The show is a nice stop for the thrashers, who are currently embarked on their summer tour. They're joined by other titans of heavy, Lamb of God and Behemoth. That same night that the show airs, Slayer will headline the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Slayer have been making other headlines in recent weeks. Guitarist Gary Holt spoke out against the Kardashians, saying, "I hate their guts," in reference to them being famous over nothing, and his "Kill the Kardashians" shirt. We've also seen Kerry King give his picks of his 10 favorite metal albums of all time.
