New Japan Pro Wrestling import Shinsuke Nakamura has only wrestled twice on TV in the US under the WWE's NXT brand, but he's already had a MAJOR impact. His 'Strong Style Has Arrived' t-shirt sold out immediately. And in his first match, he put on a 5 Star war with Sami Zayn. And this is just the beginning of his journey on American soil. Dude was already a global star and now he is positioned to fire off into the stratosphere.

Now, with that being said, some casual wrestling fans don't get the importance of Nakamura or understand what the big deal is. In fact, my buddy Jay Whatley from K945, just doesn't get the Shinsuke phenomenon. So, I'm going to do my best to explain to the casual fan why Nakamura is the best in world.

1) KING OF STRONG STYLE

For those that don't know, Nakamura practices what is known in America as Strong Style. Strong Style uses full contact martial arts strikes and shoot submission holds. Unlike other wrestling styles, Strong Style makes is high impact and makes the matches feel more realistic. Hell, Strong Style practitioners have been known to seriously hurt their opponents who don't know how to properly take the hits. Its fun to watch and adds an element of realism.

2) In Ring Story Telling

Nakamura hands down the best in-ring story tellers I've ever seen. For instance, in his NXT TV debut last Wednesday against Tye Dillinger, he pulled the ref aside to explain to him Dillinger's 'Perfect 10' taunt. Against Sami Zayn at Takeover, he got his nose busted. He checked the blood, licked it off his fingers and gave Sami a look that just said, 'It's on!'. It's the subtle moves in his in ring performance that makes him great. He has a natural ability to connect with the fans and tell a story even though he can barely speak the English language. He can make the most mundane 7 minute match highly entertaining.

3) His Size is an Asset

Unlike past Japanese imports, Nakamura is big boy. He's 6 foot 2 and goes about 229 pounds. Which is important because unlike guys like Hideo Itami, he can go toe to toe with the likes of Brock Lesnar (and has) and can make it believable. And he will be taking on the monsters of the main roster before long. I believe there are only 2 reasons he got put on NXT: 1) It gives him a chance to become more fluent in American style wrestling and 2) they need someone short term to take over the NXT title from Finn Balor.
