Pussy Riot Plus Stephen Colbert Equals Sarcastic Fun-Fest [VIDEO]

Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina have a band. It’s called Pussy Riot. Maybe you’ve heard of them? They made international news after they were locked up in a Russian prison for a protest against President Vladimir Putin a couple of years ago. Sounds like a plot for a great B-movie, doesn’t it? Reasonably hot Russian chicks start band. Reasonably hot Russian chicks use band to protest politics of Russian president. Reasonably hot Russian chicks get thrown in the Russian slammer. Cue porn flick music…

I’d watch it.

The Pussy Riot girls are here in the U.S. to speak at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center as part of Amnesty International’s Bringing Human Rights Home concert, where they’ll be joined by Madonna, the Flaming Lips, Imagine Dragons, and many more. And, well, to be honest, they’re probably here because Putin wanted them the hell out of Russia before the Olympic Games started.

But last night, they made a stop at The Colbert Report for a chat with Stephen Colbert, where speaking through a tranlator, they proved that there is no language barrier for funny. Not to be a spoiler, but when Colbert told them they’d be searched before leaving the building, they responded,

“We’ve had two years of practice hiding things from searches.”

And that’s just one HI-larious moment from the interview. But, aside from the verbal sarcasm match, they touched upon some serious issues as well, including the Sochi Winter Olympics, Russia’s anti-gay laws, and prison reform. Check out the interview below:

So, to sum it up, these two chicks are in a Russian punk band, they’re kinda hot, and they’re funny. Can we keep them?!?!? But, the question I’m sure you’re asking, “Are they good?”
I think music is subjective, so I’ll let you decide that…
