Nick Oliveri (Mondo Generator, Vista Chino, ex-Queens of the Stone Age, ex-Kyuss) is going solo. The bassist will be releasing his first “plugged in” solo album ‘Leave Me Alone’ in late September. He previously issued solo acoustic albums in 2004 and 2009.

Oliveri provides the vocals on the album along with playing all the instruments (guitar, bass, drums). He also produced ‘Leave Me Alone,’ which was recorded at Thunder Underground Studios in Palm Springs, Calif.

Though it is a solo album, Oliveri did surround himself with some impressive talent. Special guests on the disc will include Phil Campbell (Motorhead), Dean Ween (Ween), Stephen Haas (Moistboyz), Mike Pygmie (Mondo Generator), Marc Diamond (The Dwarves) and Bruno Fevery (Vista Chino). The Dwarves vocalist Blag Dahlia also makes a guest appearance.

Oliveri has been in numerous bands over the years, but his most high-profile gig was with Queens of the Stone Age from 1998 to 2004. Back in April, Oliveri appeared with the band onstage for the first time in a decade. He performed ‘You Think I Ain’t Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire’ with his former QOTSA bandmates.

He’s keeping busy with numerous projects. Oliveri is also currently playing with Uncontrollable, Moistboyz and Bl’ast along with doing some solo acoustic shows. He’ll also take part in Queens of the Stone Age’s upcoming Halloween bash in Los Angeles.
