New Beer Created for an Alcoholic’s Post-Workout

Most health experts will tell you: knocking back a cold one during a workout is not exactly the most opportune way to whip yourself into shape. However, one Canadian brewing company disagrees with that philosophy and plans to show health nuts across the globe a new way to incorporate booze into their body-be-good-mentality with their latest product Lean Machine.

According to NPR, the Vampt beverage company plans to launch a new gluten-free “recovery ale” with only 77 calories. The beer is essentially redneck Gatorade, packed with vitamins, electrolytes and, of course, alcohol.

“We just thought that maybe we could do something that would support a drinker, make it still socially fun, and help them accomplish what needs to be accomplished after an aggressive workout,” Vampt founder Ian Toews told NPR.

However, do not get too excited about the idea of using this bodybuilding booze to feel 10 foot tall and bullet proof in the gym. While Lean Machine is being marketed as a beer, with a limp wristed .05 percent ABV, it most certainly is not a true working man’s brew. In fact, it has the same alcohol content as a freaking O’Doul’s, which is sold as non-alcoholic beer.

Just say NO to near beer.
