LSU QB Brandon Harris Transferring To North Carolina

The LSU football Tigers will be a different team this year. They might look similar on defense but LSU fans will be seeing a totally retooled offensive when play begins on September 2nd in Houston against Brigham Young University.

One of the casualties of this change in offensive mindset brought about Coach Ed Orgeron and new Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada is now officially Brandon Harris.

Harris, a former starting quarterback for LSU had made his intentions to transfer public on his Twitter page last month.  Harris lost the starting job after a dreadful start to the season against Wisconsin. Harris was benched in favor of the man most likely to be calling signals for the Tigers’ this fall, Danny Etling.

Harris is scheduled to graduate in May from LSU. He will then use the graduate transfer rule to finish out his eligibility at the University of North Carolina. Harris made his intentions known in a Facebook post.

Obviously, it has been an important time for me, looking for a great situation and another opportunity to grow as a young man and as a student as well as a football player. The opportunity to accomplish that is very important to me. After my offical visit this weekend to the University of North Carolina, I’m going to get that opportunity. With that being said, I’m fully committed to UNC this upcoming year and I look forward to the opportunity to play for coach Fedora and UNC. Thank you, to all of those who have kept me in your prayers and continue to do so. I have to say that I haven’t been this excited in a while and can’t do anything but thank God and my wonderful family for their continued support. #godbless #tarhealnation

Because life is full of irony, one of the potential quarterbacks on the roster for UNC is former LSU Coach Les Miles’ son Manny Miles.  This information was reported in a story by Reporter Christopher Dabe of and The Times-Picayune
