Cool, now that we're up to date on what we're talking about, let's look at what JUST HAPPENED.

Today the National Science Foundation, along with Moscow State University, along with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory, announced that have discovered the existence of gravitational waves.

This is a huge deal.

First of all, one of the LIGO facilities that participated in the findings is located in Livingston, Louisiana. Giving Louisiana a little credit in the research findings. But still, I'm sure you're curious about what the hell it all means.
