You couldn't write the history of 99X without talking about Sevendust. The band as been apart of the station since they came into existence. One of their first Sevendust shows (they were formally known as Crawlspace) was at our very first X-Fest and they played on a back porch of a bar. Since then, the guys have become family, coming to Shreveport god knows how many times.

But in all the years we've been with Sevendust, we are about to get a first. Next Friday, November 21, Sevendust will be playing acoustically for the first time in Shreveport. But before they get to town, frontman extraordinaire, Lajon called to chat about things. We talked about what to expect from a Sevendust acoustic show and what the future holds for the band. Listen to what LJ had to say below.

I think the BIGGEST revelation came when LJ discussed the future of Sevendust. Dating back to 2011, rumors have been spinning that Sevendust is done. Rumors were sparked by some tweets from drummer Morgan Rose that read 'So guys, the whole farewell thing is being ‘talked’ about. We love each other; there’s no issue with us. we just miss our families. no decision yet' and 'We’re not goin away. Not for years. Were 4 sure doin another record n 2 years of touring. We knew the rumors would go nuts'.

Well, since Rose tweeted those words, three years have passed and the band produced a new studio album. So, expectedly, the rumor mill has been kicking back up. But Lajon put those rumors to bed saying, 'Well it doesn't look like anything is slowing us down. We're getting back into the studio in January to work on a new album.'  Which is GREAT news.
