Syfy’s latest show claims to depict teams of paranormal investigators conducting “first-person investigations of the most frightening claims of paranormal activity along America’s remote back roads.” All of which would sound odd enough if it weren’t for the fact that Ozzy Osbourne‘s son Jack is one of the people doing the investigating.

The idea of a reality series on the Syfy Network might seem somewhat contradictory, but every channel’s got to have plenty of cheap, “unscripted” programming these days. Osbourne is a team leader on ‘Haunted Highway,’ which sends its hosts out with “state-of-the-art equipment” to “self-document their harrowing face-to-face encounters with the paranormal.”

The initial series run is scheduled to include six episodes, which will find the teams traveling to Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Of course, as longtime readers know, Osbourne’s paranormal escapades fit right in with one of classic rock’s most oddball traditions. A number of formerly platinum artists, including Vince Neil and Bret Michaels, have appeared on shows purporting to offer windows into the unknown — and while we don’t expect Jack to turn up much more than raccoons on ‘Haunted Highway,’ the show should be every bit as wonderfully cheesy as original Syfy movies like ‘Dinocroc vs. Supergator’ and ‘Mongolian Death Worm.’ Watch a complete episode below:
