Baseball has been around since the 1800s.

So, by this point, we've pretty much seen everything there is to see. Not a whole lot surprises us anymore.

Sure, every now and then you see an incredible play or some kind of anomaly, but nothing quite like this.

During a Class A Midwest League game between the Fort Wayne TinCaps and Great Lakes Loons, a ball was hit down the first base line -- something that happens hundreds of times every season.

The first baseman gave chase, but was unable to make the play at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Ind.

And, then, something magical happened.
