May 10, 2012 ...and surprise! I ain't the games. Before I even get started, I'll preface this by saying I hate basketball. Especially on the professional level. How hard is it for an 8 foot man to drop a ball into a hoop 10 feet off of the ground???? Raise that hoop to 25 feet, and give fans paintball guns to fire at random players - now there's a game!!

Tributes have been pouring in from around the globe following Friday’s (May 4) death of Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch, and bandmate Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz has been extremely moved by all of them. In an entry on the Beastie Boys’ blog posted Sunday night, Horovitz took time to show his appreciation to his friends and family during his time of mourning and thank everybody for all the respect shown to Yauch following the sad news of his passing after a three-year battle with cancer.
Following Metallica’s less-than-popular collaboration with Lou Reed last year, the metal gents are ready to get back into the studio and craft a proper Metallica set. Speaking with Metal Hammer (via Blabbermouth), frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich hinted that the next Metallica album will be another one with producer Rick Rubin in tow.
DirectTV’s show the ‘Guitar Center Sessions’ is setting the bar high with their first episode. Starring in the season kickoff, guitar superstar and recently crowned ‘Riff Lord’ Slash will perform an acoustic set with back-up support from Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators (Brent Fitz on drums and Todd Kerns on bass).
Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery and his brother Corey Lowery, who plays bass alongside Clint in the band Dark New Day, are dealing with a tough loss, as their father, musician and producer Willie French Lowery, has passed away.
Slash is gearing up to unchain his sophomore solo album, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ on May 22. With so much drama surrounding Slash during his tenure with Guns N’ Roses and again recently with Axl Rose’s refusal to show up for GN’R's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month, the guitarist is happy to be involved in a project that’s drama-free.

The unfortunate turn of events in the Black Sabbath camp, including Tony Iommi‘s cancer diagnosis and Bill Ward‘s contract issues, limited the newly reunited Black Sabbath to only a couple of 2012 shows instead of a world tour. However, one more show has been added to Sabbath’s schedule, which will be their first official reunion performance.
Marilyn Manson is getting ready to release his new disc ‘Born Villain’ on Tuesday (May 1) and leading up to the release he’s been disclosing a lot about it including the literary inspirations that found their way into his new music as well as the warning label he thinks it should come with.
This may come as some disappointing news for Kurt Cobain fans, but apparently that lost solo record may not really exist.
