Bert and Ernie Banned Movie

Bert and Ernie on the cover of the New Yorker

As soon as the Supreme Court of the USA handed down it’s decision that Defense of Marriage was null-and-void, as it was Unconstitutional, New Yorker magazine decided it was time to ‘out’ Bert and Ernie.

It has been rumored for many decades that Bert and Ernie were gay. Sesame Street Workshop has never commented on this, until yesterday, where they flat-out said

“Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics…they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.”

So they are just friendly muppets? Really? What if it was found that one of them was, in fact, gay? It may look something like this recently issued (and banned) movie called “Ernest and Bertram”…which is brought to you by the letter “Y” and the the number 1.
