While I don't have any hard, fast numbers...I'm thinking there has to be at least 100 reasons why humans should not have sex with animals.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers took a night off from their European tour to perform at the European MTV Music Awards on Sunday night.
The Peppers pulled out the first single from their latest album 'I'm With You' for the crowd at Ulster Hall in Belfast, Ireland
Local singer/songwriter/guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd is only 33, but he's been playing the blues for over 20 years now. He's sold over 8 million albums, had six #1 records, racked up Grammy nominations and Billboard awards, and has toured with The Eagles, Aerosmith, Van Halen, and The Rolling Stones.
The number 13. The superstitious try to avoid bad luck by keeping away from anything numbered or labelled thirteen. Something tells me though, not even superstition will keep untold thousands from descending on New Orleans City Park Halloween weekend for the 13th edition of the Voodoo Music Experience...
Topping a bill that featured System of a Down, Evanescence, and others, Guns 'N' Roses (well, the Axl Rose led new millennium Guns 'N' Roses) closed out the Rock in Rio Festival last Sunday night.
Never a band known for their numerous television appearances, Perry Ferrell and Jane's Addiction ended an 8-year sabbatical from the tube with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live Friday night.
I love it when someone hooks me up with a great new band! Even so, I have to admit I was little confused when I opened an email titled "The Campaign 1984". Really? A little late, aren't we? But then again, email didn't exist in 1984, so I can be a little forgiving if election campaign propaganda shows up a little late, right?
On Thanksgiving, when most people are carefully watching their turkeys roast in the oven and preparing old family recipes for the perfect stuffing, I'll be sitting down to dinner at a truck stop. Hey, don't judge me. I've done it before…several times. And you know what? It's not half bad.
A friend that IS REALLY into Halloween once told me, "The ideal costume is cool...but it also has a soul". I'm not exactly sure what he meant, but I think it means that a truly great costume isn't something that you buy in a bag. A truly great costume has to begin with an idea, pondered upon, and tediously created. It will have more personal meaning for you, and everyone else will be not only be impressed with your idea, but the time and creativity that went into the finished product.
Another great show at the Riverside Warehouse. River Blindness, Moira Red, and the reunited Cold. Okay, I know they've been back together since 2009, but I haven't seen them since they opened for Staind and Godsmack at the Coliseum...what? 100 years ago? So, to me, I was seeing the reunited Cold. Pacify me, will ya?!?
Hard to believe it's been 20 years since "Alive", "Even Flow", and "Jeremy" hit the airwaves, and Pearl Jam, along with fellow Seattle bands Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, changed Rock music forever.
I was passed out cold after the Texas Hippie Coalition show at the Warehouse when I got the call from my friend Jeanne, who works at a radio station in New Orleans: "Seether! Avenged Sevenfold! Three Days Grace! It's the Uproar Festival in Biloxi! Wait! Wait! Wait! SEVENDUST IS PLAYING TOO! I've already booked rooms! YOU HAVE TO COME"! I'm sure some Incoherent mumbling followed. Incoherent mumbling that she later assured me was my promise that I would be there - hell or high water. If I'd only known...
