After three years attending Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, I came back to Shreveport-Bossier to continue college at LSU-S. I took a couple of breaks to work full-time, and finally graduated from LSU-S in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in communications. My biggest challenge came in 2008, when I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Emma. She's a handful, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world! Hobbies include singing and playing music, writing and reading. I dabbled at being a "rock star" for a little while when a friend and I started an acoustic band we called Aimless. We wrote about a dozen songs together, and even recorded a 5-song EP. My most favorite bands are Toad the Wet Sprocket, Candlebox and regional bands too numerous to mention. In the reading department...I love fiction novels, and my favorite author is Stephen King. I have quite an extensive collection of his work, but also enjoy Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series.
