99X Flashback: Candlebox

Like I told you before, since we are celebrating our 20th Birthday, we are going to take a look back at some of the most important bands in 99X history. Last week, we kicked things off with our good friends Jackyl. This week we take a look at another group of guys we've become extremely close with over the last 2 decades, Candlebox.

What can you say about Kevin Martin and company that hasn't been said before? Not only are they still one of the most talented bands touring the country today (even if it does take them forever and a day to put out a new album), but after the show is over, you can always find Kevin and the guys hanging around signing autographs and chilling out with fans. Hell, I can't tell you how many times I've been bellied up to the bar to drink Scotch and smoke cigars with these guys.

Over the years, they've been here at least a few dozen times. They played our first birthday show 10 years or so ago at the State Fair. They've played the Warehouse, the Strand and damn near every other venue we've ever had in this town. And the show is just as good today as it was 20 years ago, which is pretty impressive.
