Stage Center, the company that recently brought "Steel Magnolias," "Next To Normal," and "Into The Woods" to the local stage, is gearing up for their 2017 season, and they need YOU for their summer musical, "Green Day's American Idiot."

Auditions for "American Idiot" as well as "The 39 Steps" and "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will all happen Sunday October 22 starting at 3 P.M.

American Idiot, with music by Green Day, lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong, and a book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer, will be directed and co‐choreographed by Zhailon Levingston, with musical direction by Seth Taylor.

We look to a press release from Stage Center to see a synopsis of the musical:

Based on and including every song from the Grammy Award-winning multi‐platinum album, as well as several songs from follow-up release, 21st Century Breakdown, IDIOT boldly takes the American musical where it's never gone before. Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post‐9/11 world. When the three disgruntled men flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Michael is called back home to attend familial responsibilities, and Johnny's attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. An energy-fueled, high-octane rock opera.

WHAT THEY ARE SEEKING: 11 men and 6 women who sing, dance, act, and have an edge. Ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged to attend. All roles are currently open.

REHEARSALS begin June 27 and will take place daily from 6PM-10PM, on Saturday from 10AM‐6PM, and Sundays between 2PM‐10PM for two weeks in prep for PERFORMANCES at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse July 20‐29, 2017.
