Given the increasing frequency of zombies in movies, television and other media, it’s quite obvious that the zombie apocalypse will soon here. But who knew that when it comes to surviving this showdown with the undead, location - like real estate - is everything.

Some states, it would seem, are more populated with zealous zombie fighters than others.

The real estate website Estately has published its 'Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Rankings', determined by using the 11 metrics that measure fighting ability, knowledge of zombies, physical fitness, access to weapons and others.

So, as we all await that inevitable knock crash at our front doors, here are the top 10 states where your chances of survival are greatest.

By the way, our own state came in a distant 46th. We placed very high with number of gun owners, but were undone by our collective obesity and lack of education. On the other hand, we'd easily sate a zombie's voracious appetite.
