A warrant has been issued for 17-year-old Alexander Coleman, of the 4110 block of Joplin Street in Shreveport. For over a month now, Shreveport Police detectives have been investigating incidents where victims have reported their vehicles being burglarized and even stolen by suspects, who in some cases, were captured on video surveillance. Through tireless efforts, along with assistance from the local community, authorities have gathered such information leading them to procure a warrant for the arrest of Coleman. Coleman is wanted on multiple counts of simple burglary. Bond in the matter has been set at $100,000.

A press release from Cpl. Marcus Hines, spokesman for the SPD, details how detectives linked Coleman to the crimes.

Evidence has been obtained suggesting Coleman is allegedly working in tandem with a group of other individuals, who are breaking into and stealing cars. Authorities recently arrested and charged an alleged accomplice of Coleman's, 18 year old Jerol Ewell of Shreveport, with multiple counts of vehicle burglary during their on-going investigation, after evidence suggests he allegedly burglarized cars and other properties. In addition to the arrest of Ewell, two juvenile females ages 15 and 16 years old, were taken into police custody on September 11, after an off-duty police officer observed the two burglarizing cars near Fern Avenue in Shreveport's Broadmoor neighborhood.

Police are urging anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Alexander Coleman, to contact Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit their website at www.lockemup.org. Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity to police immediately and secure their cars and remove valuables from plain sight of would be thieves.
