Shreveport's own Evangel Christian Academy has garnered the notice of the folks at USA Today and are ready for your vote in their Best High School Football Program 2014 poll!

The contest began today and consists of 255 different high school programs selected by a panel of experts and our area is represented by the Evangel squad. The champion will be named Wednesday, December 10th after three rounds of voting... first by state, then by region and then the finalists. Show your pride in our talent by voting for Evangel and asking your friends to show their support as well!

Other school's selected in Louisiana include Acadiana in Lafayette, Haynesville, John Curtis Christian in New Orleans and West Monroe.

The voting state will take place from November 10th through November 19th. The next round, which voting by region, will take place from November 20th through December 1st. Finally, the finalists from each region will be up for the final round of voting December 2nd through December 10th when the winner will be named. So what will the winning schools receive? Check this out:

PRIZES:
First Place: The Athletic Dept. will receive $1,000 and a banner
Second Place: The Athletic Dept. will receive $500 and a banner
Third Place: The Athletic Dept. will receive $250 and a banner
**All 10 finalist schools will receive a banner for being a finalist.

This is the 12th installment of USA Today's 'Best of' contest series which has received more than 150 million votes from fans around the country. Throughout the years, more than 2,000 programs have been featured in at least one of the contests. Past champions hail from Illinois (THREE TIMES!), Missouri, Vermont, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Kansas. I say it's time to bring the title to Louisiana!
