U2 “Not Suitable” for Record Label in 1979: Read the Rejection Letter [PHOTO]

How would you like to be the guy that told U2 that they were “not suitable” for his label? That has to be right up there with the guy at Decca that took a pass on The Beatles.  And both really happened.

Take a look at “Dear Bono” letter from RSO Records (the former home of the Bee Gees and Eric Clapton, among others) that cost the label untold millions of dollars:

Hard to believe that either on of those billion dollar franchises were found lacking, but it gives hope to the guy that gets rejected by the girl at the bar, the job applicant who gets the “not interested” letter from HR, or the local band that can’t seem to score a gig at the local bar.  Everyone gets rejected…the future depends on how you respond.  U2 and The Fab Four responded by becoming two of the highest earning and most popular bands in rock history.  The guys that passed on them?  Resting comfortably under the rock of obscurity, I’m sure…
