Live Nation today announced an additional U2 concert date on its Joshua Tree Tour 2017. September 14th is the date for the show at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

In addition to playing a selection of all their hits, U2 will be performing the entire Joshua Tree album.  Originally released in 1987, The Joshua Tree is one of the best-selling albums of all time; over 25 million copies have been sold.  In 2014, it was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the US Library of Congress and is now preserved in the National Recording Registry.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree's release, and on June 2nd U2 released a re-mastered edition of the classic album.  The collector's edition includes the 11-track album, a live recording of The Joshua Tree Tour 1987 from Madison Square Garden, rarities and B-sides from the album’s original recording sessions, plus an 84-page hardback book of never-before-seen photographs taken by The Edge during the original Mojave Desert photo session in 1986.

Tickets for the New Orleans concert go on sale this Friday, June 16th, at 10am and start at just $35.00 with general admission floor tickets at $70.00. Special guest, Beck, will also be performing.
