The National Football League's annual farce of an all-star game, the Pro Bowl, is becoming more and more of a focus for teams that aren't "bowl eligible". By bowl eligible in regards to the NFL, I mean it's not looking like the playoffs are going to be a part of that team's future.

The New Orleans Saints are among those NFL teams whose playoff future doesn't look exactly rosy at this point in the season with five games left to play. However, two Saints players are currently in a position according to information released by the NFL Monday to make the exhibition game.

Those two players are quarterback Drew Brees and fullback John Kuhn. Brees is currently in the top 10 of overall vote-getters. He is the third NFC quarterback in line behind Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons.

Kuhn, the Saints fullback is currently the top vote-getter at his position. Brees and Kuhn are the only Saints players that are in the top five in their respective positions. In the overall tally of both the AFC and NFC Brees is also behind AFC quarterbacks Tom Brady of New England and the Oakland Raiders' signal caller Derek Carr.

This year the widely ignored all-star game will return to a conference versus conference format. That would pit the stars of the NFC against the stars of the AFC. A recent experiment to have a draft of players has been dropped in favor of the old way.

Fans may still cast votes for their favorite players by visiting the NFL website. Fan voting will end on December 13th with Pro Bowl announcements set to be made on December 20th.
