The Caddo Parish Grand Jury has returned true bills in connection with two separate homicides.

James Taylor, III, was indicted for second-degree murder for the March 30 killing of 24-year-old James Carroll, who was shot outside an apartment complex in Vivian.

Carlos Franklin was indicted for second-degree murder for the April 22 shooting of Gina Foster in west Shreveport, and on an attempted second-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting of Foster's grandson, Syborio Foster. Both were shot from a passing car as they stood outside a home in the 4100 block of Martha Street.

If Taylor and Franklin are convicted of the murder charges, they face life in prison without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. An attempted murder charge carries a penalty of between 10 and 50 years in prison.
