The National Weather Service confirming that a tornado touched down in New Orleans on Thursday ... knocking down trees, power lines, and collapsing several homes. Mayor Mitch Landrieu asking city residents for patience during the recovery.

Our first responders did a great job. The got there quickly and secured the scene. They made sure that everyone who was hurt was taken to the hospital.

 

The brief storm produced damage consistent with 80 mile an hour winds ... largely confined to the area around the city's Seventh Ward. Several minor injuries were reported.

 

 

 

When a tornado hits it doesn't matter whether you have the the strongest house in the city or the weakest, it's gonna take you down. It looks like the tornado and the severe weather event was pretty dramatic.

 

The storm produced 80 mile an hour winds. Several minor injuries were also reported.
