I guess signing up would be number one on this list, but we're going to skip that assuming you have already registered for the greatest event in the history of the SBC!

Take most of what you know about running 5Ks and throw it out the window! This baby is a completely different animal!

We'll see you December 13 at the LSUS campus!

    Locate Your Long Johns

Ok, maybe the cooler term is Nike Dri Fit or Under Armour, but either way, you'll want to have some warm clothes. It is December in Shreveport which means it can be a little chilly across these parts. Layer up and as mom always says, "Don't forget to cover your ears."

    Use the Buddy System

Running 5Ks can tend to be an activity you want to do solo. But this baby is more fun in pairs... Or even packs! Round up all of your friends and do an activity with each other that is Instagram worthy! Plus, a group will definitely help keep you warm in the cold.

Hydrate, Hydrate and Hydrate Some More

Although the race is not timed and is pretty much an adult jungle gym, you'll still want to hydrate. I would suggest hydrating a few days in advance. It's not about what you drink on race day, it's about what you drank prior to race day. Just sneak in a few extra glasses next week.

    Think Like Stretch Armstrong

This 5K will force you to use all of your body parts to complete it. We're talking climbing (arms, legs), sliding (buttox), diving (full body), crawling (legs, arms) and a whole lot more! If you don't want to wake up looking like something Sid from Toy Story put together, stretch it out before and after the race.

    Leave All Inhibitions at Home

How often do we as adults get to act like children? This is our golden opportunity. Everyone out there is going to be making fools of themselves and having a blast doing it. So leave you pride at the door, let loose, and go INSANE!!
