The New Wave of British Heavy Metal included bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead, Iron Maiden and even included Def Leppard in the latter days of the revolution. But in the early time of that era, Saxon was as big as the Priest or Maiden and influenced bands like Metallica, Motley Crue and Megadeth.

Saxon was HUGE in Europe with 8 Top 10 albums, but they were only modestly successful in the USA, mostly because the New Wave of British Heavy Metal was in its final stages. However Saxon is still around and can still claim cool points for songs like "Denim and Leather" and "Princess of the Night". The band took a year and re-recorded a lot of their biggest songs, but this video version of "Princess of the Night" is the original.
