You can count The Black Keys among the THOUSANDS of people who just hate Nickelback. In a recent interview published by Rolling Stone Magazine Patrick Carney, drummer and producer of The Black Keys holds not only Nickelback, but also the fans of Nickelback responsible for the state of Rock 'n Roll today.

"Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world...So they became OK with the idea that the biggest rock band in the world is always going to be shit – therefore you should never try to be the biggest rock band in the world. Fuck that! Rock & roll is the music I feel the most passionately about, and I don’t like to see it fucking ruined and spoon-fed down our throats in this watered-down, post-grunge crap, horrendous shit. When people start lumping us into that kind of shit, it’s like, ‘Fuck you,’ honestly"

Pretty harsh words, but they do ring with cutting realism.

The knife cuts both ways I'm afraid. Many feel that The Black Keys are just regurgitating a sound previously done by like the White Stripes or harking back even further to Cream, Led Zeppelin and the like.

Which ever soap box you happen to stand on, SOMEONE is bound to hop on another one refuting EVERY belief you hold dear.

So, pick your poison...I personally like stuff from each band. OHHHH Yeah, I'll admit it and fuck you if you have a problem with it.
