			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A <a href="http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0013935111001484">study</a> has just been released that links coal mining to birth defects in the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h68UJaHvG_c">West Virginia</a> and the Appalachian region. As if the coal mining industry didn't have enough to worry about with all the "green" initiatives sweeping the nation.</p>
<p>The lawyers for big coal are not taking this study lying down. A letter drafted by the lawyers for the National Mining Association pointed to a nasty stereotype about the people of West Virginia.</p>
