Sunday's St. Patrick's Day party, Patty in the Plaza, was mostly a family-friendly event. That didn't stop us from trying to have a little adult fun. Since we were unable to convince any lovely ladies to get into the bouncy castle and bounce in slow motion (something about 'having too much self respect'?), we did the next best thing: have two local girls face off against each other in a race up an inflatable rock wall.

Place your bets on who emerges victorious, but know this: you win no matter what.

The green beer has been drunk. The outrageous Irish hats stowed in closets. The green clothes are in with the laundry. In other words, our first St. Patrick's Day party, Patty in the Plaza, is over! It was the closest you could come to kissing the Blarney Stone in Shreveport and it was a blast.

Since Shreveport is one of the most bible-minded cities in the U.S., we have a feeling there will be plenty of folks partying on Friday and Saturday, then reporting to church first thing Sunday morning with a list of sins to confess.
