There used to be this little band that played at Circle in the Square all the time back in the 80's...I think their name was Pantera or something...I wonder whatever happened to those guys? Oh yeah...that's right, they went on to become the biggest and heaviest band of all time. Shreveport and Pantera will forever be linked together. The guys discovered Phil after playing a show at Circle on the Square in '87. The Hirsch was the home to the 'Great Pantera Riot of '95'. This city and the band are inseparable.

On occasion I click over to As Seen in Shreveport just to get a taste of the city I call home. I've lived here 90% of my life and that site never fails to show me something new about Shreveport.

For instance, there's a video posted there of some guy at the Shreveport Greyhound Station that seems to be speaking a new language. Seriously, I need a translator here!

Watch the video and honestly tell me you can understand more that just "Go ahead on lock me up." The dude sounds just like the assistant coach from "Water Boy"

PETA Protests in Downtown Shreveport

You know the old saying "a day late and a dollar show?" I just now saw at KTBS.com that yesterday PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) protested in Downtown Shreveport in true PETA fashion.

Chicks with panties and pasties were in front of the Caddo Courthouse at around noon yesterday with a strategic sign reading PETA's slogan "Bare Skin Don't Wear Skin."

I love food. No, I really love to eat. And I work in radio, so I REALLY love food that is good...and cheap. Key word - CHEAP. But, it has to be good. Not dollar menu stuff. I've been waiting for this movie to open for a long time! Battle: Los Angeles filmed partly right here in Shreveport opens in theaters today. This really looks like a big budget movie, which I didn't think would ever be filmed here, and from the trailer it doens't look like it will be a bust.

Aaron Eckhart leads a group of Marines in a battle to retake Los Angeles after the rest of the world has fallen to alien invaders. Ne-Yo and Michelle Rodriguez are also in it. Check it out for yourself.
