Scott Weiland. Kevin Martin of Candlebox and friends. Fuel. Avatar. Charm City Devils. Fozzy. Downfall Rising. This is your lineup for the 2014 Smith & Forge Festapalooza, coming to Shreveport's Festival Plaza September 20th.
The legal battle between Scott Weiland and his former band Stone Temple Pilots has played out very publicly throughout the past year after the band fired the former frontman in February and then recruited Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington to join their lineup. Weiland is not about to back down without a fight though, saying that the band will have to buy him out of the "company" in order for him to walk away.
Scott Weiland's feud with his former Stone Temple Pilots bandmates seems to be getting uglier by the minute. After learning he had been replaced in STP by Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington and being slapped with a lawsuit by the band's three other founding members, Weiland has filed a multimillion dollar countersuit.
Scott Weiland is now speaking about some of the issues that have led to the current problems between himself and Stone Temple Pilots' members, who are now continuing under the STP band name with Chester Bennington as their vocalist. He points to differing viewpoints in how to promote the band as being at the base of their issues.
Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland had an interesting weekend on his latest solo tour that included him challenging a heckling audience member to a fight in New York and some rather odd rants during a show in Washington, D.C.
Stone Temple Pilots announced that they officially fired singer Scott Weiland yesterday (Feb. 27), which met with a follow-up statement from the frontman in which he revealed that he was surprised by the announcement. "Surprised" is definitely the key word, as Weiland spoke with Rolling Stone earlier this week about the rumors and his future with Stone Temple Pilots and he did not let on that there was trouble on the horizon.
Scott Weiland finally did it, he made a video for a Christmas song. He looks like an ugly Bing Crosby (and he was no prize, BTW). Funny enough, they both had substance abuse issues...one was treated....guess
