Singer Geoff Tate was the guest on Saturday night’s (Aug. 25) ‘That Metal Show’ on VH1 Classic, and provided an open account of his ousting from Queensryche, with some speculation as to why it occurred.

Since the not-so-amicable split between singer Geoff Tate and the rest of Queensryche, the band recently recruited Crimson Glory vocalist Todd La Torre to front the band. Since his debut, La Torre has been accused of using Geoff Tate’s recorded vocals during live performances — an allegation which La Torre has now officially denied.

Queensryche and former singer Geoff Tate continue to work out the specifics of their parting in court. The latest issue to come up centers on the band’s websites and social networking hubs.

The back and forth between Geoff Tate and his former bandmates in Queensryche continues with Tate’s preliminary injunction that was filed this past Thursday (July 12) in King County Superior Court in Seattle.

Last week Queensryche lead singer Geoff Tate found out he was fired when lawyers for the remaining members sent his lawyer a long legal document. After 30 years together, their relationship ended unceremoniously, but it sounds like the legal battle has just begun.

With all the infighting, website blocking, and hissy fitting in the Queensryche camp, it looks like the band is done.  Geoff Tate is off in his self-gratifying solo world, while the rest of the band have locked into a new project called Rising West - a band that plans on covering the Queensryche catalog of material.

Is Queensryche finished?  That appears to be the case, as the current line up has announced plans to tour and record with Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre in Geoff Tate’s place.

Queensryche is currently on tour in support of their new album "Dedicated to Chaos," but they have had to reschedule several shows. There's no trouble amongst the band or anything so you don't have to worry about any of that. Front man Geoff Tate has had some major throat issues.
