For the first time in 30 years, there will be no Oscar host.

It’s hard to believe (or maybe it isn’t) but it’s true.

The comedian called the gig “the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Though it was initially planned to make its debut at the upcoming 2019 ceremony, the Academy has decided to place the category on “hold” for the time being.

Netflix is determined to put it's latest masterpieces on the silver screen.

The Oscars have long had surprising moments, but Sunday night just gave us the most insane moment in Academy Awards history. Moonlight won Best Picture, but only after presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly named La La Land the winner.

In what is no doubt the most insane moment in Oscars history, Moonlight won Best Picture only after it was wrongly announced that La La Land was the winner.

"Sure, it's a comic book movie and it's made a lot of money — but that doesn't subtract from Ryan's extraordinary work."

It's bound to happen at some point.  With the genre's proliferation over the past 20 years it's pert nigh inevitable.  Someday a superhero movie is going to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.  That's a bold statement, I know, but it might even happen this year, through the chances are slim...

On Tuesday, the Academy released their list of all the film scores eligible for a Best Original Score Oscar this year, but three of 2016’s biggest movies were absent. Arrival, Manchester by the Sea, and Martin Scorsese’s Silence were all shut out of the competition because the first two used pre-existing music, and the last wasn’t deemed “substantial” enough.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED. Leonardo DiCaprio has won his very first Academy Award. Whether you were rooting for or against ‘The Revenant’, whether you think he deserved the award for his grunting and groaning as Hugh Glass or just wanted him to win a damn Oscar already, it doesn’t matter. He’s officially in the Oscar club now.

With the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, all eyes where on 2016 Oscars host Chris Rock as he returned to add a little diversity to this year’s Academy Awards, and he did not disappoint.
