The guys from Motley Crue have spent the last couple of years hinting that retirement is on the horizon, and bass guitarist Nikki Sixx recently went so far as to say the band would be hanging it up after one more album and tour. But you know how long rock retirements tend to last -- and it looks like Sixx might be leaving himself some room for renegotiation.

Through the years, Motley Crue has spent a lot of time rocking Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Calif., with the legendary Whisky A Go-Go club among its many haunts.

So if any band deserves to be honored at the 2011 Sunset Strip Music Festival, it’s the Crue. The tribute, set for Aug. 18, is going to involve real whiskey: special-edition bottles of Jack Daniel’s, with proceeds going to a charity that’s very dear to one Crue member.

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx recently jumped into the crowd from the stage were Crue was performing at Outlaw Jam in Maryland.

The reason for the leap, was to confront a "fan" in the crowd that was filming the concert with professional equipment.

We know the drill when going to shows, no professional equipment unless you have a photo pass. I've got no idea how that camera even made it in the show with all the pat downs and so forth.

Sixx should have been focusing on the camera to his left that caught the confrontation and posted it on Youtube.
