As Slayer are currently on the road with the 2012 Mayhem Festival, guitarist Kerry King has given fans a bit more info about Slayer’s next album, which could see a release as soon as early 2013. The guitarist, who also provides lyrics for the band, is hoping to get some work done while on tour before hitting the studio once again at the conclusion of the touring Mayhem Fest.

When the 2012 Mayhem Festival lineup was announced, it seemed to be lacking one of the largely rumored bands, Motorhead. While Slipknot, Slayer, and Anthrax were on the official roster, Motorhead was not, much to the dismay of metal fans everywhere. However, the festival did hold out the promise that a special guest would be announced later on and it was speculated that it would probably be Motorhead.

Mayhem Fest hit Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, August 10th and those in attendance were treated to a fitting tribute to Dallas, Texas' own legend "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

Disturbed was joined onstage by several members from Godsmack, Trivium and All Shall Perish to rock out an amazing version of "Walk."
