Marvel has finally misfired, and Marvelites are not amused.  Iron Fist, the latest Netflix series from the Marvel pantheon, premiered last week with a thud.  The star of the series is Game Of Thrones alum Finn Jones.  One would think that playing swordmaster Loras Tyrell would make Jones the perfect actor for the role of Danny Rand who wields the power of the Iron Fist...

So far, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a beautiful tapestry of heroism, intricate plotting, and Spandex. 14 movies and over two “phases” in, things are going swimmingly. Hardcore fans are happy, the movies make billions of dollars, and the web of characters and their adventures is getting ever larger.

The Netflix Defenders have an on-and-off relationship with costumes, between Daredevil spending the whole of Season 1 justifying the red suit, while both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage poked fun at their comic counterparts’ familiar attire. Iron Fist might have landed somewhere in the middle, but according to the showrunner, Danny Rand isn’t likely to don green and yellow anytime soon.

FOX’s Bryan Singer-directed X-Men drama doesn’t have a name, or even many confirmed characters, at least until now. Recent Gotham alum Jamie Chung will suit up as Marvel’s Blink, who Singer had previously showcased in Days of Future Past.
