The discovery was made after a Tokyo sewage plant approached scientists, asking them if they could figure out a way to utilize all the sewage sludge lying around.

“The Simpsons” Feeling Aftershocks from Japan Nuclear Crisis
A few episodes of "The Simpsons" have been pulled from syndication in Austria in light of the ongoing nuclear situation in Japan. And some other countries may follow suit.
Obviously, "The Simpsons" has made a LOT of nuclear references since Homer works at a nuclear plant . . . and you know, is somewhat lazy and incompetent.
The Austrian network dropped a 1992 episode titled "Marge Gets a Job" . . . and one from 2005 called "On a Clear Day I Can't See My Sister." Those deal with radiation poisoning and nuclear meltdowns.

Hundreds have been found or are presumed dead after a massive earthquake and ensuing tsunami tore through Japan's northeast coast. Some are already declaring the 8.9 magnitude quake the largest ever recorded and after-effects are expected to hit the west coast of the US, the Phillippines, Indonesia and other vulnerable spots.
