Any one who has been on an all night bender of tequila and whiskey in college and then again 10 years later can attest to this fact , but the researchers at Union College thought we needed a reason for this.

They determined that as you get older levels of a certain enzyme that breaks down alcohol and it's toxins decrease.  Ipso facto the toxins can hang around longer in your system, leading to a worse hangover that when you were young.
