Homegrown picks

Congrats to the Trepid gang, who reinvented themselves with a new singer and drummer and came out on top in the latest Homegrown Picks of the Week poll.

It's a Louisiana showdown! We're keeping it very local this week with two bands that have never before been part of the Homegrown voting and one that knows Homegrown Picks very well (now with a new singer and new recordings). Vote for your favorite once a day, and then listen for the winner to pop up in the rotation next week on the coolest rock station around, 99x!

Last week we gave Louisiana a bye in our weekly Homegrown Picks poll, instead shining the spotlight on three regional acts. Light the Fire, Deaf Angel and Jessica Seven all hail from Arkansas and Texas. But it was Fort Worth's own Deaf Angel who took the win, earning a spot in 99X rotation.

We're heading over to Texas and Arkansas for this week's poll. Take a listen to the three tunes by Jessica Seven, Light the Fire and Deaf Angel, pick your favorite, and don't forget to come back every day this week to vote! You can vote once a day, through midnight Saturday.

It's another Louisiana/East Texas hard rock/metal showdown...Tyler versus Monroe versus Longview!

Another awesome round of Homegrown voting this week. We've got Nothing More from San Antonio, Texas, Hounds of Jezebel (some of these guys are from right here in Shreveport-Bossier, but based out of Houston, Texas) and Chasing Daylight from West Monroe.

It's east versus west this week. We've got Arkay and 8 Feet Thick from Monroe, and Conversion of the Mind from Shreveport/East Texas.

It was a hard-fought battle, but Houston, Texas rockers The Last Place You Look took the crown in last week's Homegrown Picks showdown. The group beat out Deaf Angel from Fort Worth, Texas and Monroe's Villain for a Moment. But The Last Place You Look already has plenty on their plate, including a fan-funded fall tour that kicked off earlier this month.
