The Deftones have been quiet for the past couple years, but things are finally starting to pick up for the legendary hard rock band. Not only do they have a new album, Koi No Yokan coming out on November 13th (you can score a preview song of that album, 'Leathers', here), but they are also about to hit the road for a quick fall tour including a stop in Dallas!

Deftones are getting the itch to play, having booked a gig on short notice at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and dropping by the Warner Bros. ski lodge headquarters, also in L.A., for a Friday performance.

Our hearts go out to Deftones bassist Chi Cheng and his family, as yet another bout of pneumonia is keeping the musician in the hospital. Back in June, Cheng, who has been in a three-plus-year coma, was supposed to be sent home after battling pneumonia but now remains hospitalized with another bout with the illness.

Deftones have made quick work of their next record. The band, who enjoyed a boost with their ‘Diamond Eyes’ album, recently returned to the studio and has finished writing and recording their still-untitled follow-up.

After reports a few weeks ago that Deftones were set to enter the studio in July, photos posted on their Twitter feed this week indicate they are already hard at work recording a new album.

Deftones recently wrapped up pre-production on their seventh studio album and have set a date of July 9 to enter the studio for the new recording. The disc will be the follow-up to their 2010 release ‘Diamond Eyes.’

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno is once again off the market. (Sorry, girls!) Moreno, 38, wed his longtime girlfriend Risa Mora in a ceremony in the thoroughly romantic locale of Hawaii last week. The couple swapped vows on Wednesday, March 7.
