What you see above is a new TV spot for Deadpool, which promises all the violence and mayhem and profanity that should come with a proper adaptation of the beloved comic book character. Unfortunately for fans in China, it’s that content in particular that’s keeping the film from hitting theaters in their country.

I got to give Fox a round of applause...after screwing the pooch as far as Deadpool is concerned in the Wolverine Origins movie, it appears that the company has made a true to form Deadpool solo movie that just looks god damn amazing! How am I suppose to wait another 6-8 months for this movie...

We normally like to steer clear of the “trailer for a trailer” phenomena that results in photos of a 6-second Instagram video of a 15-second YouTube video teaser of an actual trailer. It’s a toxic fad in the world of movie promotion and one we hope goes away quickly, but we couldn’t resist sharing this trailer for a trailer for Deadpool. For one, it’s almost a minute long, and for another, it’s just funny.

Look, I'm an old school Deadpool fan. There was something about Wade Wilson that made me love him from New Mutants 98 on. Since then, Deadpool has become THE BIGGEST character in the comic universe. And today, Wade met his demise at the hands of Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn.

Just the other day, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he’s been fighting with Fox over the rating for Deadpool, which he (and many other fans) firmly believes should be rated R. That’s been the big Deadpool question this week, and now it appears we have an unequivocal answer thanks to the magic of the April Fools’ holiday and one very special interview with Reynolds himself.

After seeing the AWESOME Power Rangers video that was produced by Adi Shankar (director of Dredd and Killing Them Softly), I started searching YouTube for more well done fan series. Ryan Reynolds has been trying to get a proper ‘Deadpool’ movie off the ground ever since he helped botch the character in the deplorable ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’ Yeah, he says he has a genuine affinity for the character, but he also has to appease the ever-fickle movie gods, who punished him for his earlier comic book movie transgressions by putting him in ‘Green Lantern.’ Making a ‘Deadpool’ movie is how he restores order to the universe. Anyway, Reynolds took to Twitter to share our first glimpse of the Merc With a Mouth’s costume and even in this early state, it’s a significant improvement over the previous big screen version of the character.

Because rumors of a ‘Deadpool’ movie have lingered for many years and years, we’ll always remain a little skeptical that this movie is actually happening for real this time. But, following the news that Ryan Reynolds has officially signed on to star, comes word that casting on the project is ramping up as T.J. Miller (‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’) and Ed Skrein (formerly of ‘Game of Thrones’) are in talks to join the upcoming project.
