Is the grass - or cash - greener on the other side? Whenever I see that a band is releasing a greatest hits CD, I always assume that they've found a way to score more cash from a different record label, or they've decided to go at it on their own. The old "so...according to our contract, we owe you one more album..." And nine out of ten times, that album ends up being a live record, or a collection of previous hits. With maybe one new song included. The contractual obligation album.

Tonight's CockFight is going to be a heavyweight showdown between our defending champion, the 'Live and Inspired' Godsmack and a band that's on the 'Same Old Trip' (which isn't a bad thing), Chevelle! Who wins this battle is all up to you...get your votes in on who you want to win after the jump.
Friday night, Chevelle took down Jack White to become the new cockfight champion setting up tonight's battle between two of the biggest cocks in Rock & Roll: Korn v Chevelle! Who wins this epic battle? It's all in your hands...

What gives with all the bands putting out videos well after they release their songs? Seether did it with "Tonight", Jane's Addiction is doing it with "Underground" and now Chevelle has done the same thing well after the song came out
The new Chevelle album 'Hats Off to the Bull' will be available in stores and online next Tuesday (December 6th), but if you can't wait that long to hear new music from the Loeffler brothers, the entire album is streaming exclusively on Loudwire now:
Chicago rock trio Chevelle have just announced a string of tour dates in support of their upcoming album, ‘Hats Off to the Bull,’ which is set for a Dec. 6 release. The band will be playing a short cluster of shows in between various media appearances across the U.S. beginning tomorrow in their home state.
Back in the day, the release of a concert album used to be a sure sign that a band was not going to be putting out a new studio effort anytime soon.
Chevelle fans can rest easy, however. Even though the Chicago-bred group released the live collection ‘Any Last Words’ in the spring, a new studio disc is on the way, just in time for the year-end holiday season.
