Coal Execs Blame Inbreeding for Birth Defects

A study has just been released that links coal mining to birth defects in the West Virginia and the Appalachian region. As if the coal mining industry didn't have enough to worry about with all the "green" initiatives sweeping the nation.

The lawyers for big coal are not taking this study lying down. A letter drafted by the lawyers for the National Mining Association pointed to a nasty stereotype about the people of West Virginia.
